About

Juggling work, relationships, and stress without a break?

I offer therapy for professionals and families navigating burnout, relationship challenges, and problematic screen use.

〰️

It’s easy to go through life, pushing the limits on work, sleep, and relationships, while missing real connection and joy. I work with high-demand professionals—including physicians—and their partners. I help clients restore balance, strengthen relationships, and address tech addiction, OCD, and anxiety. We will work together to help you manage stress, build healthier habits, and regain control over your life. I also support parents and teens navigating healthy screen use.

Meet katie

Hi, it’s good to meet you (wave). I’m glad you’re here.

Experience & Training:

I have a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I chose to pursue this degree because it provided specialized training in working with couples, children, and families. My clinical approach is rooted in postmodern theory, with a strong emphasis on family systems and the ways relationships shape our experiences. During my training, I had the opportunity to study under faculty who were trained by renowned therapists Insoo Kim Berg and Steve de Shazer, among others. I completed my traineeship at the grassroots non-profit organization The Road Ahead Family Services in Mission Hills, CA.

I’m currently an Associate Marriage and Family therapist #159415, receiving clinical supervision by Caroline Salz, LMFT #105615. Supervision helps guide ethical and clinical aspects of care, allowing me to continually refine my skills and uphold the highest standards of care.

Background:

Before becoming a therapist, I worked in advertising with fortune 500 brands. This experience gives me a firsthand understanding of high-demand, high-pressure work environments. I’m married to a physician specializing in psychiatry, which gives me insight into the unique demands of medical careers and how they impact both individuals and their families. It also deepens my understanding of the medical and biological aspects of mental health, complementing my work as a therapist.

Interests:

I’m passionate about understanding how technology shapes our relationships, attention, and well-being—especially for kids and teens. I lead community talks like “Tweens, Teens, and Screens” and advocate for more balanced, developmentally healthy tech use for young people and the families supporting them.

Non-work things:

I was born and raised in Pasadena, California, and yes, every year my family and I went to see the Rose Parade floats go by on Sierra Madre Boulevard. Growing up under the ever-present Southern California sun is one of my favorite things!

I am a dog mom + human mom and also a wannabe photographer. I consider myself to be deeply empathetic and a huge people-person. AND I am excited to meet you!
